Quick project planing

QicsPlanner allows you to adopt a whole project into your workflow for various employees all at once, by breaking down the project into assigned tasks with an allocated budget. With a single-click, you will assign these project tasks to individual employees. This takes considerably less time than creating project plans directly in Exact Synergy Enterprise.

Automatic task assignment

After entering a task, QicsPlanner can automatically assign this task to a particular employee or to the employee who has the most hours available during the period indicated. QicsPlanner takes into account existing agreements and other projects' tasks.

All relevant information shown on a single screen

The planning screen displays the project planning information of the current project. In addition, it includes all relevant information from the Exact Synergy Enterprise calendar, rosters and any other QicsPlanner projects. Thanks to the clear design, it shows at a glance who is available and when.

Managing projects in detail

There is no limit to the number of tasks and sub-tasks you can add to a project. This enables you to break down and structure the whole project in order to create a cost estimate. The integration with QicsTime ensures that it is possible to compare the original project plan with the actual realization. This gives you insight into the project’s progress, and ultimately into the final costs of your project.

Save time with project templates

Project templates are an easy way to save your project breakdown and re-use it for future projects. You can also use project templates as building blocks, combining multiple templates to create complex projects.

Insight into capacity planning and staff workloads

QicsPlanner offers staffing overviews that enable you to assess future capacity and staff workloads. In less than no time, you can see whether you can accept new work contracts and what commitments you can safely make to your clients. At the same time, you can identify the bottlenecks in the project planning and see where you need to assign extra staff resources.

Using competences provides you with a better overview

It is possible to link employees to competences. These may be employee groups (for instance, all project managers or everyone with SQL experience or everyone who owns a car). You are fully flexible in the way you create and assign competences. Since every task is linked to a competence, only the relevant employees are shown when you are busy assigning tasks. In addition, you can also view the level of demand for each competence.

Resource calendars

People working on your projects can see their tasks and assignments in the QicsPlanner calendar. If you are also using Synergy or Synergy Enterprise they can also see their appointments synchronized with the Synergy calendar. In the near future we will also support synchronisation with Exchange/Outlook.

Automatic integration running in the background

The integration with Exact Synergy Enterprise is a fully automated background process. As a user, you do not have to push any buttons or to import or export any files. QicsPlanner takes into account calendars, rosters and public holidays from Exact Synergy Enterprise and combines these with the planned tasks. This means that all the information you need is contained in one overview. Alternately, you can retrieve all tasks and project planning entered in QicsPlanner within Exact Synergy Enterprise in order to have access to the same information in both programs.

Integration with QicsTime

It is possible to have your project planning included as a proposal for the project's actual realization in QicsTime. All you need to do to complete your time sheet, is to update, where needed, the actual time worked. The integration with QicsTime makes it possible to assign time to project tasks. In this way, you can view in much greater detail your project's progress or compare the time spent with the budget figures right down to task level.
